Mr. Trailyoka Bhattarai, a Ph.D. student in Electrical Engineering at UNC Charlotte, has been awarded the ANPA Travel Grant for 2023. Originally from Jhapa, Nepal, Mr. Bhattarai earned an M.Sc. in Physics from the Central Department of Physics, Tribhuvan University in 2015. For the past three years, he has focused his research on designing and testing UV-C LEDs for microbial disinfection purposes, which has sparked his interest in the intersection of engineering, biology, and environmental studies.
