ANPA Juniors Coding Camp 2021 for High Schoolers

Summer School on Python and Raspberry Pi

(June 19-August 14, 2021)

Association of Nepali Physicists in America (ANPA) is organizing Python and Raspberry Pi classes in the summer of 2021 for high schoolers for the first time, in collaboration with Non-Nepali Residents Association (NRNA). The purpose of this unique program is to contribute our resources to promote the young generation for their career development and to reach out to the Nepalese community in the USA. This program is designed for high school students who will be rising Grade 9 – University Freshman in Fall 2021 with limited seats. The school will run for nine weeks starting from 19th June to 14th August with two sections with 25 students in each section. ANPA  is optimistic that the python course will keep our young generation engaged in the summer and help them to develop new skills before returning to the school in Fall.

Python is one of today’s most popular and fast-growing programming languages, with applications in data science, software development, machine learning, and AI. It is an open-source language and emphasizes readable, flexible, and efficient code. This course introduces the programming environment and explores the basics of Python. After learning how to run a script, high schoolers will work with Python expressions, functions, and variables in interactive mode. Its goal is not simply to teach basic Python coding skills, but rather to understand the project-based courses including Security Camera with Raspberry, Face Mask Detection, Fetching Weather data, and more.
